About Us

Toton Plant Hire Ltd was founded in 1969 by Roger Radford and was based in Toton Nottingham. Toton Plant Hire then moved premises in the 1970’s to a site in Hucknall before finally moving to their current premises in Colwick Nottingham in 2001.  Toton Plant Hire became an established local operator providing both equipment hire and aggregate services to the construction industry. 2008 saw the acquisition of Toton Plant Hire by Wastecycle Ltd and the expansion of the aggregates business to become a leading provider of aggregate and tipper services in the East Midlands.

Expanding upon the services provided by Toton Plant Hire, Toton Aggregates has gone on to become a leading provider of aggregate materials and now operate 7 vehicles on a daily basis across the East Midlands delivering aggregate materials to local customers.

Toton Aggregates conforms to the WRAP protocol which is a joint venture between businesses, the Environment Agency and DEFRA (Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) to ensure strict regulation and conformity when providing recycled materials.

Toton Aggregates continue to develop new offerings in aggregate materials /services and in 2015 introduced NFSMR (Non-Flowable Structural Material for Reinstatement). Made by using soil and aggregates derived from trench excavations, processed and combined with a specialist hydraulic binder, it produces a granular material used as a replacement for MOT Type One Sub-base for trench reinstatement which has very strong bearing capacity and compressive strength. This virtually eliminates “sinkage” defects and reduces carbon footprint by recycling materials that otherwise might end up in landfill.

In 2016 Toton Aggregates moved to a new larger 4 acre recycling facility on the Colwick site where they continue to provide sustainable quality recycled aggregates.
